Edgecliff Sydney that educates kindergarten
through to senior high year girls. HENDRY Building Surveying
Consultants have assisted the School in recent years with regard
to: Wallis House: Building Code of Australia design stage
consultancy relating to a new 4 storey educational building with
ancillary single residence, office and carparking uses; Glenrock
Building and Ferguson Wing: BCA Due Diligence and design advice for
concept alterations and use changes relating to an existing 2
storey, 2 united buildings having educational, residential and
office uses; and Fiona Building: BCA due diligence for approved
alterations and a new 3 storey wing extension to an existing
heritage building having educational and office uses.

Madsen Building, Sydney University NSW
HENDRY Building
Surveying Consultants were engaged by Tanner Architects to
establish the level of Building Code of Australia compliance
with regard to a proposed upgrade and fitout project for the
building the Madsen Building; a heritage university education
building which contains seven storeys accommodating predominantly
staff offices, research and teaching spaces and stores uses. Our
role included the initial BCA compliance audit inspection and
reporting, review of the construction certificate drawings against
the BCA and provide compliance advice, liaising with the design
team and Sydney City Council; and assist in the development and
review of the Fire Engineered Design Brief and the Fire Safety
Assessment Report.
Archbishop's Residence, Manly NSW
HENDRY Building Surveying
Consultants assisted Bovis Lend Lease (on behalf of the Catholic
Archdiocese of Sydney & Touraust Corporation) by undertaking a
Building Code of
Australia assessment and reporting for the Development
Application submission to Manly Council for the proposed change of
use to an educational building having ancillary office uses and a
single residential occupancy for visiting lecturers for the
International School of Tourism at St Patrick's Estate, Manly.
HENDRY also provided a performance based Alternative Solution with
regard to the lack of fire separation of the basement floor
level.
Central Queensland University, Sydney NSW
The Sydney campus of the Central Queensland
University (CQU) is located at Kent Street Sydney, within a 10
storey building. The campus contains education, office, retail and
carparking uses. HENDRY Building Surveying Consultants recently
carried out a comprehensive Building Audit/ Due Diligence
inspection and report on the building to determine the necessary
prioritised building upgrade works to achieve Building Code of
Australia compliance.
Female Orphan School, Rydalmere NSW
The Female Orphan School at University of
Western Sydney's Rydalmere campus is recognised as being the oldest
3 storey brick building in Australia and the nation's oldest public
building. Stages 2 and 3 of the building's redevelopment involved
the refurbishment and fitout of the central section for office and
training uses and the ground and first floors of the West Wing for
exhibition use respectively. Hendry Building Surveying Consultants
were engaged to undertake a Crown certification role and assess
Building Code of Australia compliance for the Design and
Construction Phases.
