Headquarters Joint Operations Command NSW
HENDRY was appointed as the Accredited Building
Surveyor for the Headquarters Joint Operations Command is in close
proximity to Canberra. It is to be the operational headquarters for
the Australian Defence Force. This new high technology facility
provides Defence with its first integrated headquarters from which
Australia's operational activities ranging from warfare, United
Nations and other operations, regional activities, support for
disaster relief, and other support activities are planned and
conducted. For the purpose of ensuring compliance with the Building Code of Australia and the
Department of Defence Manual of Fire Protection Engineering.

 |
King George Square, Brisbane QLD
As one of
the many upgrade projects by the Brisbane City Council, the King
George Square redevelopment holds particular interest due to its
link to the new Northern Busway along with its location adjacent
the City Hall. HENDRY were invited as a Building Code of Australia consultant
to provide regulatory advice on the redevelopment of King George
Square as part of the Northern bus way upgrade. The project posed
some interesting issues with regard to classification and type of
construction due to the underground carpark, links to the busway
and various uses and design of the ground level café and open space
area.
Information & Cultural Exchange, Parramatta NSW
The refurbishment
of The Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) and SWITCH
Corporation building in Parramatta consisted of alterations and an
adaptive reuse of the existing 2 storey building for use as a
Multimedia and Digital Arts Centre. HENDRY Building Surveying
Consultants provided Building Code of Australia consultancy
services during the concept design and design development phases,
thereby ensuring a BCA compliant result for the team.
SBS Corporation, Artarmon NSW
SBS Studios at
Artarmon, Sydney consists of a large part three storey office,
studio, loading dock/ store building with ancillary childcare
centre, and a part 5 storey open deck carpark. HENDRY Building
Surveying Consultants established the level of Building Code of
Australia (BCA) fire safety compliance of the facility through the
provision of initial BCA compliance audit inspection and reporting,
liaising with AECOM's design team, assisting and reviewing the fire
engineered fire safety upgrade design process, coordinating NSW
Fire Brigades involvement and inspection of the completed
works.
